Getting an education just got easier for children in rural Babil province. US Army Civil Affairs and the Iraqi Government opened a new primary school making commutes shorter and education possibilities greater.
For the last several years, the United States has worked at rebuilding Iraq’s education system. Progress has been made in many areas but the US and Iraqi governments continue to make improvements to help Iraq’s students.

Thirty Nine Iraqi soldiers graduated the basic military intelligence course in Basra, Iraq. These Soldiers learn how to recognize threats and call up information to higher headquarters.
Keeping hazardous materials safely contained is important to public safety. Civil Affairs soldiers are training a group of Iraqis who will advise the government on creating policies and laws regulating hazardous materials.
Soldiers from the 34th DSTB received donations from the Rosemount hockey association in Minnesota. Rosemount donated over 30 jerseys, sticks, and 2 goals in spirit of annual hockey day in Rosemount.
The Army's Border Transition Team trains Iraq coastal border guards at the Shatt Al Arab battalion. Classes include basic room clearing procedures and first aid.
